Introducing The Sunlight Studio
Out of the darkroom and into the sun
Starting this spring, I will be offering classes in alternative photographic processes for both adults and kids, including some techniques that I developed myself. This is a chance to learn unique photographic techniques and have a fully equipped studio to experiment in.
The mission of the Sunlight Studio is to combine digital imaging with historic processes while in the context of nature and the outdoors. Much of photography today is disconnected from the input of the artist; directly printing from the computer to the printer. I am interested in bringing the art of hand-working a photograph back by combining historic processes and the use of digital techniques. In addition, we will often use organic material from garden to make our prints and use sunlight as the light source to develop the print. In my camps and classes we will reconnect with nature AND learn latest digital techniques. It's liberating to be out of the darkroom and into the sun, and still producing great images!
